building my 79 chevy! first project (im young)

whats up everybody.. this is my first post on here and I thought i'd show you my 79 chevy pickup.. been working on it for about a year and a half. built a 350 for my senior project last year, lowered it 5 and 5, dual flowmasters, and now im doing body work. Also just recently bought some boyd coddingtons. pretty happy for my first project. anyways check it out and let me know what you think!!

once a mod logs on they will move it. but this seams like the right section for members rides. anyway welcome from Maryland keep us updated on the progress and most of all have fun while doing it or it will just seam like another job

Yeah what he said, enjoy building it or you will get burnt out.  Its looking good just stick with it and it will be done in no time.  Oh by the way welcome aboard.

Welcome from Texas.  Your doing a good job with it.  Have fun.  What color are you planning on painting it, or have you gotten that far in decision making?

thanks a lot everybody.. for now i might keep it in gray primer and just get to driving it. Im pretty anxious cause ive only drove probably 3 miles on the new engine if that. Sometimes I have to remind myself that this isnt a job and I should have fun while working on it but then again I'm on the body work portion which isnt to much fun

Great progress!! Just keep at it, regular primer is not water proof. If you're going to prime it and leave it, use epoxy.

hey nice truck...im like 2 hrs away from you in yakima...have you thought about painting it the same color it was in the first pic....i think it looks sharp.  anyway good work and your still in highschool?  im just getting into working on vehicles and i am 29...wish i would have started 10 yrs ago....i would have way more knowledge by now instead of just starting out..congrats!

nice to see someone else from WA is on here haha. anyways I just graduated from highschool in june and now im tryin to figure out what im doing with my life lol. As for paint i havnt made my mind up and i could use some ideas

I think that is the million dollar question on here.  They look good in almost any color you can put on them.

hey just givin a little update on my truck. was slackin for a little bit on the body work but i just recently got back on it and sprayed the rest of the exterior in primer. now I am sanding the interior while waiting for my new light truck mega shifter and seat brackets to arrive. hopefully i can have the truck painted within the next month or month and a half. going with LIMETIME GREEN :) anyways here are a few pics

That will be one awesome truck when you get done. Love the hood and shaved door handles and mirrors.
