My great grandfather purchased it brand new in late 82. The only option he checked was a rear window defrost :D.
It's a tank. I've hit deer, all my friends have backed into it, and as a result, I've had to replace some parts. My plan is to eventually make it into a X-11 clone someday. Yep the hoods off an 81 X.

I have an 81 X/11 that my oldest daughter drives daily.  They are a very good little car.  That is the car that replaced the Chevy Nova...

I really wasn't a big fan of the older round-headlight front ends, but that looks cool.  Nice work.

Forgot to mention that at cruise night, I scored a free oil change. Like I don't know how to do that ;) Anyways, while getting my free change, one of the employees had a 83-87 bumper that he gave to me. with a little finesse it fit real good, and I like it too. Should i keep snooping around for a roll pan, or do you guys like the bumper?

Beautiful truck, you did a good job on the front clip.I would stay away from any roll pans front or other wise.you have no protection, and I think the bumper looks better. But its ur truck and you should do what you want to it.

It's Back!!! I'm excited! I got an edelbrock 2103 and a gear drive to go in, too. Time to give the citation a break though, it's developed quite the oil leak. I'll keep everyone updated ;D

Just dropped her off at the shop. My guy already has the intake off. lol. anyway, I have a Cloyes single roller chain and my gear drive in the cab. I'm not sure which to use, although my mechanic told me that since it was in my awesome 305, it probably has metal shavings in it, no matter how well you clean it. I'm kind of leaning on the chain now because I really like my 400 and don't want to spend half the summer putting in the 4th motor.  :)

I have a mushroomed lifter and my cam is flaking off into my motor.  :( So I was wondering how long I can drive around? My mechanic says it could last for 50 thousand miles or blow up as soon as I pick her up. I'm kinda bummed because I wanted to drive the thing for a little bit, save up and turn that 400 into a fire breathing 406. Shoulda kept the 250.

All right, so I went down to break in my cam. I asked my mechanic if I could. Anyway, now I have an extreme overheating issue. It used to like 220, and now its getting up to 280... I decided to run it as long as it wasn't boiling out. Well, I got my 20 minutes on the cam break in and shut it off. Antifreeze everywhere! I'm hoping its the cheap thermostat I put in. I'm going to flush it when I get home and take off those underdrive pulleys that keep eating my belt. I think the ignition timing is too advanced, too. Anyways,   I'll keep you all posted on progress.  This truck is really turning into a nightmare. Pictures to follow as soon as shes home. Hopefully monday...

GM's first front wheel drive (for the longest time). Great cars, but lots of recalls. Search them on google or something. They're different thats for sure.
