uneven lift kit
« on: December 21, 2009, 05:03:53 pm »
Hey guys,
So I FINALLY got my hands on one of these old square bodies. Its a 76 k25 sierra grande. My only problem with it is that the guy I bought it off put a 4 inch lift on it but it sits a bit slanted. The front seems to be an inch or two lower. i have been told that with these old leaf spring lifts you have buy one that is a bit higher in the front rather than even all around so it levels out. This true? I'm planning on replacing the lift with a 6 inch anyway, anyone think 37's will fit with the 6 inch? Or should i leave the 35's on it?
Thanks

the lifts i have installed are usually the same way.   the front is lower than the rear.   i guess they expect you to always have a load in the bed to level it out.   the springs also sag over time, not sure how old yours are.
with a 6 inch lift, the 35's would look fine.   you could get away with the 37's if you want to trim the fenders some for clearance.

in order to get the front nd rear to match up you couple make some front shackels a bit longer than stock Fitz on here has don that i plane to but haven't yet, and with only 6" 35 will fit just right anything more you need to trim
