92 gmc 6.2 diesel and 90 vw corrado
« on: December 23, 2009, 05:48:33 pm »
do you guys think it would be worth trading for ether a 92 gmc with a 6.2 diesel that needs a water pump and some body work, or a 90 vw corrado with a 1.8 supercharged and has a bunch of performance parts (chip, lowering kit, exhaust, intercooled supercharger, automatic spoiler, and its a 5spd...i would be trading for my truck (84 gmc c2500)

well if the guy with the corrado wants to trade then ill probably go look at and test drive the car and if its good then ill trade but im also interested in the diesel because for one its a diesel and its 4wd and has abs and its newer which are all bonuses when it comes to my truck

The VW sounds like it was a race car. I wouldnt trade for a race car unless you intend on racing it. There are alot of these types for sale now, and I would believe its because they know somethings wrong with it.

Yep, totally agree with chop. My buddy with the crx turbocharged it way too much and now has a warped head and oil leaking issues. It's a fast car, but my slow truck has bailed him out a few times. HAHA!

All normal practicality and rational money handling goes out of the window when it comes to my truck.

The supercharger and intercooler may be factory, but the chip, lowering kit, and most likely the exhaust are not. Id use extreme caution. A good friend of mine had several Buick Grand Nationals, and they were factory turbo cars, but they didnt run 11s from the factory, his did. The wifes WS6 TransAm has 87,000 miles on it, the exhaust was changed, and later I found and removed, the Nitrous jets from the intake. It runs and drive fine, but you can tell it was road hard and put up wet. It uses a little more oil than an 87000 mile car should use. Wont make the same mistake again. Id rather have a 150,000 car driven by an elderly couple than a 50,000 mile car driven by a kid.

ya if/when i look at it i am going to look it over and ask questions...but just because he put a lowering kit, chip, and exhaust doesnt mean it was a race car....i would put that stuff on just to make it better

I guess the real underlying question is, if you make the trade, will you still be on this board?
