the best lift kit?
« on: December 26, 2009, 02:46:50 am »
i recently made a post about my 76 3/4 ton. i boguht it with a 4 inch lift kit on it but the front seems to be at least 1-2 inches lower than the rear. anyway im just wondering what you guys think the best 6 inch kit is. i will be running a nice offset beefy set of 35's like a super swamper or something. so far i think i have my sights set on superlift. according to 4wheelparts.com it lifts the front 6 inches and the rear only 5 so maybe this will help level out my truck. what do you guys think? i don't really have a price limit becasue i do all my work myself so i can afford a nice kit. some opinions on some tires would be nice too. i do a nice bit of wheeling in the bush (trails, flexing over logs, hills, etc) but i also like a bit of mud and i want something that is decent on pavement.

thanks

OK first let me say i have rough country on my truck they are goos and everyone who rode in it before i put springs all around says its much smother than with blocks in the rear. don't know what kit was in it before but it was ugly when we cut the u bolts off springs just fell apart the center bolt was broken just a ticking time bomb. also just cause you pay top dollar for a product doesn't mean its top dollar but also look into sky jacker lift kits. as far as the super swamper's i think you will like the ground hawgs better due to the fact there great in the mud and everything else you can throw at them and they "seam" to last allot longer on the road the reason i say that is my buddy had a set of 38's on his blazer drove that a couple years got a newer Chevy  put them on that drove that a couple years and now there sitting in the woods just cause he doesn't have any 6 lug trucks to put them on. now my super swamper's i probably put close to 12000 on them and its time for new ones. IMO they are toooo soft to hold up to the road.

BDS is one of the better company's selling lift kits. They offer a no fine print life time warranty.

As for tires --  http://toyotires.com/tire/pattern/open-country-mt  Toyo Open Country M/T are a bit pricey but will perform well on and off road. Last week I took a set off a F350 S/D that had 50k miles on them and installed a new set.
If you need any help with questions P/M me, I work at a Offload 4x4 shop selling and installing all types of lift kits, tires
and accessories.
