dual tank

I was pushing my tank switch and felt the motor switching ,then it just stoped and at that same time my gauge pegged past full. Now when i push the switch i cant feal anything.
Tank transfer valve maybe???  
Dont mean to jack 78's earlier post on switch.

Either a bad ground or your switch needs to be cleaned out.  GM used a foam gasket thing to keep dust out of the switches and it always disintegrates and blocks the contacts.  If it was just the valve, the fuel gauge would still show the other tanks fuel level.  Id take the switch apart and clean it out.  Be careful taking it apart so you can get it back like it was and put die-electric grease on everything to keep it from corroding later.

Replaced switch yesterday and checked fuses. Checked for loose grounds,But no luck. Any one got any adv. on where to look.

Check the grounds from the sender to the frame, check connections at the switch valve and check power to the switch

Old post ,but is the pink wire on the switch the power? Also because I'm runing left tank only could i connect the pink wire at the valve with the pink/black tank line to bypass the valve? I'm sick of running out of gas. Try to track my miles but different roads and conditions make it tuff. Thanks.

If you only wanna run one tank, throw the valve away and connect the tank you want directly to the fuel line up to the engine.  then find out which wire goes to the gauge and splice it directly with the one from the tank, then unhook any wires to or from the switch and call it a day.
