Does anyone know what the lifter outside diameter is on some stock 350 lifters? I'm looking at replacing my lifters. Are there any other specs I need to know when ordering new ones?

yes they can... those are hydrualic roller lifters... they are made to go with billet steel camshafts... you have a hydrualic flat tappet camshaft. and a cast steel camshaft
they arent ideal for what you are after unless your motor is already a hydraulic roller camshaft motor... in which they lifters are re-usable were as a flat tappet they are matted to the camshaft after breakin is done
pushrod length are different between the two as well

Alrighty then.... I guess it all depends on what I find out about this motor when I tear it apart. But supposedly its just supposed to be a stock 350. So I just need flat tappet lifters?

do you know what year the block is? it would give you a good idea weather the block is a 2-peice rear main (normally flat tappet) or 1 piece(roller tappet)
and yes

We are thinkin that my block is an early 80's... and we think its a 2 piece but shoot who knows. LOL. I'm gettin the engine stand tomorrow so hopefully I can have this motor out and torn apart soon. Too many questions to figure out without actually lookin at it and knowing for sure. LOL.

I have to ask, why are you only replacing the lifters? Like malibu795 mentioned, with flat tappet cams each lifter is mated to one cam lobe. You need to replace the cam and lifters as a set. If it is a stock 350 you will have flat tappet lifters and those are the only type you can use. When you fire the motor for the first time with a fresh cam and lifter set, you will need to break in the cam (2000 rpm for 20 min is the rule of thumb) to mate the lifters and cam lobes.
