Flywheel cover question

I picked this flywheel cover up today at the junk yard because of the brackets. I figure it was there stock, so why not put one on since mine is lacking it. The only thing I knew I would need to get are the motor mount brackets but I didnt want to pull those off since the engine was still in the truck and I really didnt want to mess with that.

The transmission was a TH350, noted by the notch in the pan. The problem I have run into and didnt notice until I got home was my transmission does not have the three bolt holes on each side. It does have holes, but very tiny. 1/4 inch or less and they dont line up. What gives? The truck itself was a 77 K5 blazer with a V8. Mine is a 79 k10 with a 350/TH350.

 I'd have to guess that your truck has a light duty trans/car trans. good find on the cover. ain't seen one of them for awhile.

Ya I was super excited when I found it. I got those pieces in the picture plus a transfer case skid plate all for 25 bucks. I was stoked. Now Im pissed since I cant use the flywheel cover...

Is there a way to ID the transmission to find what it was from?

  I think Joe is right, sounds like you have a 2wd turbo 350 with a 4wd output shaft installed (my 81 has the same set up). Someone used to make a brace kit for these 2wd trannys that allow you to run that 4wd flex plate cover on it. Not sure if that company is still around.
  As long as that cover is off of a turbo 350 I think you could just drill out the holes on your tranny and use a nut-washer-bolt set up.

I was thinking that, but I REALLY dont want do be drilling holes, under the truck, on my back. Well I suppose Ill keep it for awhile and see what comes up. My transmission runs great so I wont be rebuilding/replacing it for awhile.

I'll ask around and see if I can come up with the name of the company that made those brackets. it was a nice set up. The bolts would run through the cover-tranny-and into this bracket that sat on the topside of the tranny. It was contoured to fit real nice so it didn't look like a micky mouse set up. There was 2 brackets in the kit, drivers/pass side.
