That is good news indeed.Maybe this is a small step for a turnaround for GM and possibly get these familes back to the road of recovery..

i'm not impressed and i don't think gm is doing ANYTHING different or better.   So, this means nothing.

Gm still sucks.

You're just sore about Pontiac. :P

I think the Cruze has the potential to be a real contender in the small car market, which would definitely be a first for GM.  Sorry, but both the Cavalier and Cobalt were garbage compared to, well, anything (but especially the Civic and Corolla).

I'm with Stewart on this one.  But only time will tell if the small changes they make now will have any lasting impact.  My guess is they won't.  it was more than just redundant branding that set their demise in motion.  Being suffocated by labor contracts while overseas auto makers set up shop here and hire the same skillset for half the money is a huge reason.  This is why foreign automakers are STILL able to kick our butts on our own soil.

My plant manager has a saying he uses all the time:  Pigs will eat, hogs go to the market.  The UAW should shoulder a lot of the blame for the fall and near-collapse of the Big 3.

Don't put Ford in that list.  Those guys are outselling, outlasting, out engineering and winning award after award on their vehicles now. 

And, i agree, UAW needs to take responsibility....with the world economy and market and trade, you can't keep asking for more wages, more jobs, more benefits, more retirement, more.....more....more....more.....  Can you say, jobs will be pushed to Mexico and China....oops, they already are...thanks UAW.
