Lets see your vanity plates
« on: February 03, 2010, 07:27:47 pm »
Mine on my 86 plow truck.

Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

Sgt, you dont worry about someone seeing your FOP plates and leaving a nice present?

Maybe its just because Im in Cali, but I will never put a thin blue line or anything else on any of my vehicles. It just invites a insurance claim.

Never crossed my mind.  Never happened yet.  And, if i catch someone doing something, I know how to react in such a way it's worse for them and they may pay for an entire paint job.

Insurance claim?  no way.  As old as my vehicles are, I'd be dumb to have collision insurance or the like.  All i have is liability...cheap for both vehicles $400 a year.  If i had collision or vandalism or whatever, they'd total these trucks for $1000 claim.    I paint, I do body work, I've done upholstery work, I rebuild engines, I have no worries.

Trust me, they are much more a benefit than headache.

This was my ride in high school and college in the early 90's. 1988 Mustang GT. You probably can't see it but the plate says EAR DMG  :)

It is quite expensive addition to have a vanity plate in Indiana.  Last time I checked it was an additional $48 each year.  Not worth it IMO.
