I have come to one conclusion tho. I will not cut up another frame for one of the trucks ever again. I had some idea on what the salt was doing to the frames up there, but I didnt know it was that bad. So Im gonna start saving what I can, you never know when one of my fellow square body fans will need one..

I'll probally still cut them up, but I'll definitly never haul another frame across the scales, even if its a LWB, lol

The 2wd blazer frames are more unusual than the others. Ive seen many 2wd blazers for sale around the area, but non of them were donor trucks. 4wd blazers are common

4WD and 2WD frames are the same you just need the 2WD component which are essentially from a 4x2.

I know but I need a new frame anyway  ::) I bought a 4x4 frame a few years ago only to find it was bent and cracked. :'(   So now everything has just been put on hold for a while.

Another trade off for rust free sheetmetal is uncracked dash pads. I looked at prolly 200 of our trucks in various yards over a weekend and found not one good dash. Which reminds me, I still need a good dash for the 74... lol

Finding a good dash pad up here is like finding a rust free Toyota frame! Chances are slim to none!

Must be the bane of our trucks then. I may just fiberglass one, keep it stock looking down to holding the vent trim, or a wrap job, one thing is for sure, I'm not spending 300 on a reproduction.

For some reason I've had decent luck finding good dash pads in Suburbans. Maybe because they were used more as family vehicles than work trucks?
