when i had my 94 jacked up to look at what was causing a noise i noticed the passenger tire could move allot from left to right started to look at what was the problem followed the center link to the idler are and pitman arm were it seams to be some play not sure what part if its the center link or the arms. my question is what part of those are known to wear or would they both wear even. so i would just replace both center link and arms or just one or the other

from what i see the center link is " not supposed to wear" a non-wear item so I'm guessing just the pitman and idle, but if i wasn't able to move the divers side and when i was moving the passengers side i know the center link moving along, what was stopping the divers side

By having someone move the wheel while you are under looking, you should be able to tell where the movement occurs. I take it you rulled out wheel bearings?

the wheel only moves left and right when the tire is moved it moves as if it was turning due to slop somewere in the between the center link and pitman arm. heck since its over 15 years old I think ill just change the pitman and idler

Those trucks are noted for eating Pitman and idler arms.

Every Chevy of every vintage seems to eat idler and pitman arms. Is it just me?

I changed both pitman and idler on mine. You should have someone wiggle the steering wheel while you look at each part. you will see the slop. could be one part or many. Also, have you checked your ball joints?

lol funny this summer they all were replaced due to one lower one braking, Lucky my wife just pulled into a parking lot and heard a pop when she parked it turned the wheel a couple times it snapped and the wheel well lets say wasn't holding the truck up any more
