77 K20 4x4 -noob
« on: February 24, 2010, 07:53:58 pm »
howdy y'all,
i'm active duty, just got stationed in fort bliss, and i bought a 77 K20 4x4
Its got a 4 inch lift and 35x12.5's right now, and a brand spankin new 406 thats got less then 100 miles on it
i'm going to restore this truck, i got plenty of combat pay to fix up the way i want it :D
first priority is registering it so i can drive it around texas - i gotta fix the windshield, the emergency brake cable, and the horn so it'll pass texas inspection
this website seems like a really good one... i already found a bunch of info on my horn issues

this is my DD - its a 2003 S10 ZR2 4x4, lifted 8 inches - on 33's in this picture in germany

Both are nice looking trucks.  Are you sure the 77 has a 4 inch it looks more like a 6 inch to me.
1985 GMC High Sierra K10 mild 350 and rebuilt 700R4 with transgo shift kit

1985 GMC Sierra Classic C10 TPI 350 swapped in and 700R4 and 6 inch drop, with front drop spindles and a axle flip in the back and c notched frame

1995 Chevy Tahoe LT stock

Killer trucks! Welcome to the place and thanks for your service.
77 c-10 - 77 400 86 700r4 "Emmy"
83 citation - 2.5L Four on the Floor!
88 sierra - reman 350 700r4 "Eleanor"
All normal practicality and rational money handling goes out of the window when it comes to my truck.

yea, its just a 4 inch lift. the 35's look real small, don't they?

shipping the s10 from germany cost me nothing - the army will pay to ship one vehicle. it was a pain in the ass though, getting it to pass inspections - had to get rid of the 33's, rims, and the dumped exhaust i had. german inspections are real strict.

i'm buying a 76 C10 Bonanza - it runs, its got a 350, and i'm going to swap the body onto my K20 frame. The C10 is white and in really good shape. After the body swap, I'm going to clean the 350 up and sell it to make up some of the costs.
