3" Body Lift - Questions
« on: February 26, 2010, 12:41:58 am »
Hi I have a 1980 Chevy K10 longbox 4speed standard 4x4 And am planning on installing a 3inch body lift kit, I have everything all planned out and organized so it will work out EXCEPT!!!! I do not know what to do about the Clutch and clutch linkage and that stuff.... My buddy who has done it says to cut the hole for the linkage further down, make it bigger and it should be fine,... But i dont know, Does anybody know of any better way to do it? If theres an parts out there i can buy to extend the linkage or anything? Or if anyone has done it themselves i would love some advice, Thank you very much. -Trevor

All the ones I have seen ( I don't like body lifts) you cut the parts that are short and weld a rod to extend them.

the shaft in the cab that goes strait down from the clutch to the floor bord needs to be cut and extended a couple inches

Alright thats what i was thinking but i wasnt sure, Thank you. Alot of people dont lke body lifts i noticed but its a cheaper way for me to get more clearance for my bigger tires, i am only 16 lol i am running 33" super swampers and had to cut the fenders a bit but i think there still rubbing so im just going to put a body lift in. Again thanks for the help

If you already cut the front fenders for clearance I would just keep cutting until the 33's fit. At this point what do you have to loose?
