cruise control conversion ?

I have a question about hooking up the stock cruise switch in a 85 truck. I'm swapping a 2008 dbw 5.3/4l60e in. And would like to keep the cruise. Has anybody done this with the dbw set up? I talked to Speartech and thay said, that I needed a e67 computer and  matching gas pedal. And the one that came with the engine would not work.
