Strange CUCV

Seen this for sale, the guy says this is how he got it straight from the army.... looks like a bit of a homemade job though.... any ideas???

I was in the Army while these were in svc. I dont remember any Duelly. But i could be wrong. I tlooks good though.

i've never seen a cucv with a cab and chassis axle under it, but it could have happened.   the dually front  is telling me that the axles were swapped in, but if it was by the military or not is a good question.

I would say it could potentially be a CUCV but it would definitley have fenders on it.  Army was all about safety, that would be slinging junk all over the place.

Didn't gm make the narrow rear end so they could have a fleetside/ not with the fenders. Or is that one just have hacked off fenders?

if you look at how far the rear tires stick out from the bedside on the one with the flares, then look at the one in question, the axles are 2 different widths.   the tires on the one in question are within the fleetside wheel wells, not protruding out that far.   i kinda think it's a C&C axle.

There is a member here that has a fleetside dually (sorry I cant remember your name). I wonder if it is the same thing as his.

I'm wondering if the army just had a spare Chassis Cab and put a CUCV bed on. The wheel tubs inside the bed are the standard size ones, like on a single wheel truck.

I think they would have had to replace the rear axle,because the cab and chassis is longer

  A few things I would look to see if it's a real Military vehicle for are a tag on the drivers door inside the cab that would give the model number. Does the 6.2 diesel have dual alternators for the 24 volt starting system? Does the door key fit the ignition?
  The Military bought so many trucks from GM that it seems GM would build them any thing that they wanted within reason. Strange things happen with the Military trucks. I've seen a few Military duallys with SRW Dana 60 front axles in them (front and rear rims did not match). The Blazers (M1009's)are rated At 3/4 ton (not 1/2 ton) and the pick ups (M1008/M1028) are rated at 1.25 tons compared to the K30 1 tons.

well from what I see the paint job is home made since the tail gate has bed cover snaps in it I think, and the rest of the bed does not make me think the tail gate was added later then painted all at once. I don’t think the military would even use bed covers?

 If this guy claims that he got it straight from the Army he should have some Government paperwork for it.
 By the way, how muck does he want for it?
