Vent window lower pivot broke
« on: March 20, 2010, 01:49:20 pm »
The lower pivot on the driver's side vent has sheared off allowing the window to leak (and make a heck of a lot more wind noise).  But the rubber on my vent windows is in good overall shape (garage kept most of it's life).  Can I replace this pivot without rebuilding the whole assembly?  Where can I find one?  I'd rather have the replacement in hand before pulling the vent window assembly out.

Thanks in advance.

I just weld them back on. Just make sure its facing the right way. Its been a several years since I have done one but I do recall there is two ways it can face as it has two flat sides, and two threaded sides on it.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

Guess that means a full rebuild.  I didn't realize the stud was integral to the glass frame.  I thought maybe it could be easily replaced with a thru bolt.  Oh well, for now I'll just keep wedging a small towel between the dash and vent window. :P

Thanks Blazin.
