vinyl top

I got to thinkin' what I wanted for my paint scheme the other day then it hit me!!! I like the white top with any solid paint, but I dont want just any ol' truck with a paint job. Nope I wanna be different! What if I get a vinyl white top and whatever color I finally decide!!! So I thought how I'd work it. New cab trim over the vinyl top, should look great!!! White and a candy apple red!!! Then I remembered my buddy used to have a sweet chevelle silver with a black top!!!! Then... yes and then.. I said wait, I've never seen a truck like ours with a vinyl top!!! How 'bout yall? Any pics?

Cool idea.  I think I would like the black vinyl better than white.  Interesting to see if there's pics out there of anyone doing this.

would definately be different. As far as it being white? hmmmm, I hope you would plan on cleaning it everyday and never park under a tree.  My '79 has a white roof (see link below my signature) but I will get rid of that scheme as soon as i paint it...more of a solid color throughout, or dark two tone. That white looked good in the 70's, but, in the 21st century?  Let's just say a few things do change for the better.

My only problem with Vinyl tops it they trap moisture in them and the trim will capture garbage, so you have a rust factory built onto your roof.

The white was more or less cause I like the white tops but now I've got a couple schemes! The black top with any color really! Or like the covertables with the brown/tan tops, same color for the vinyl top but with a dark red or green! I dont know I'm just lookin to do the things that are less common on my truck!!! As far as pics... I googled away and not one at all!!! I did find a cool 84 extended cab, dropped, and with the 2 piece phantom grill I like! I'll post the link when I find it i know those are kinda popular on here!
