14 bolt question

getting ready to check and possibly replace the wheel cylinders in my 14 bolt full floater rear end, one question,  what ive been told that i have to pull the axles out to get drums off? if so will anything inside the diff fall or come loose such as gears? never been into one of these axles and looking for help

nothing in the diff will come loose/ fall off when you remove the axle.   however, i don't think you have to pull the axle to get the drum off.

What year axle are you referring to? Later years (not sure of the cut off) the drums slip right off. Earlier years you have to pull the axles which slide right out and then remove the bearing retainer nuts. Get a manual or look on line for the procedure that pertains to your "axle year" not necessarily the truck year.

its a 1977 k-20 4x4 with 10.5 inch full floater 14 bolt.

The drums come off with out taking the axle off. But you do have to check the brake size on that one
