Another new guy
« on: April 28, 2010, 12:54:14 pm »
My name is Melvin. I recently bought a 87 R10 truck. My 1st time buying a vehicle from a private seller. I have found several things wrong.  Some have been corrected by me or a garage. Looks like I will be learning to do things to the truck myself as getting work done at a garage is expensive.. A little about me.. I am retired from telecommunications (ATT). Age 67. Married.
4 adult children. I am a great grand parent. I enjoy reading the forum and have learned a lot already. Looking forward to sharing any way i can.

Greetings Melvin. You sure are right about the expense of taking a truck into the shop. You can buy alot of good parts and add-ons with the money you save doing the work yourself. I couldn't even tell you how many hours I have into my pickup, most of which spent trying to undo the damage caused by it being a mouse nest for so long.

All normal practicality and rational money handling goes out of the window when it comes to my truck.
