Rear leaf spring pack questions.....
« on: May 06, 2010, 06:09:28 am »
Good morning, I'm wanting to swap out my worn out 3 pack leaf springs on the rear of my '82 1/2 ton SWB.....for the 3/4 ton 5 pack leafs.  Does anyone know if '88-'97 rear leaf springs will also interchange with '73-'87 leaf springs?  This will make finding leafs a little bit easier locally if this will interchange.

My current truck has a flipped rear axle....and these worn out 3 pack leafs dearch badly under hard accelleration....or if you hit a bad bump. There's someone else locally who has upgraded to the 5 pack leafs....and I like what it does for his truck....so I'm headed in the same direction with mine to solve my issues.

Won't it change your stance a little. Raise the rear and make it a stiffer ride

Yes, I'm actually wanting to stiffen the rear a bit....and lift the truck some.  I have 3" drop spindles on the front with drop springs....and the truck just sits to low for high speed driving/racing...at least for my tastes anyways ;)
