Converting Power Windows to Crank
« on: May 12, 2010, 08:37:33 am »
My truck currently has power windows. No switches or door panels. I just got a set of crank window doors. The doors are rusty so I want to take what I need out and put it in my power doors. I was wondering if the power regulator would work with the crank? Or any other useful information I should know before I go about this conversion. Thanks -Zach

You will have to completely replace the regulators.  You can do it easier if you take the wing window out and remove the door glass but it can be done with everything in place but do yourself a favor and use duck tape on all the openings or you will slice yourself up good, been there done that.

There is a writeup for replacing the power regulators in the tech section. Ditto on the "be careful"
