later model steering wheel in a 73 - how new can I get?
« on: May 13, 2010, 09:38:27 am »
any idea on how new of a steering wheel will fit into a 73.  I'm sure anything up to 87, but in the 90's?  same shaft size, number of teeth, etc?  I know the airbag won't work, but curious if I junk yard grab a nice newer wheel will it fit on?  Don't want to change the whole column, just the wheel.  thanks.

Up to 94 I believe
78' K-20 355/SM465/twin stick 205 6" on 36's
14 bolt FF/big bearing Dana 44 4.56 gears

92' GMC C-1500 454/4L80E/14 bolt

Off topic, but does anyone know the smallest size that this style came in?

I have that same wheel in my truck, but I think it could stand to be an inch smaller in diameter. Maybe one out of a camaro or something would work.
