Lower Control Arm Removal
« on: June 13, 2010, 11:56:18 pm »
I have been struggling with the removal of my lower control arms on a 1991 GMC C1500 to put in new bushings. The one bolt seems to be seized in the control arm bushing. Any ideas on how to remove this? I have tried oil and heating it, but it still won't budge.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks

Greg

Try using an impact gun, hammer and 3/8 drive extension---- while turning it with impact gun hit the other end with hammer and try to hit it out, if you cant hit the end use the extension on the end of the bolt and hit that with the hammer while turning it--- my 81 did the same thing and that is how I got it out, hope this helps
