Clunk During Suspension Cycling

Ever since i got this K5 back on the road earlier in the spring, it's had a strange clunk in the front end when it's under compression and then drops down (like going over whoops in the sand).

I installed a lift and that didn't change anything, all my balljoints and tie-rods are good, but i'm thinking it might be my shackles or shackle hangars. do they normally make a noise like that when they are worn out? do they cause any other problems?

Besides the noise and the bang, there are no other problems or symptoms to speak of anything being broken. so i'm at a loss as to what it may be.

I had a clunk once and it turned out to be the inner shackle plate was broken. We can rule out shocks if you replaced them with the new lift.

Maybe your driveshaft binding at a sharper angle?

The shocks were brand new with all new bushings and hardware when i bought the kit. so that is ruled out, plus it did it before too.

I'll have a look at the inner shackle plate, i never gave them a very hard look yet.

I thought it was too, but it did it when it was stock and even after the lift and dropping my t-case with the spacers. I'm gonna check my angles though to see if anything is out of whack.

are you using the stock drive shaft?

Yes i am, i didn't think there was any need to replace it. The u-joints are all good so i figured that wasn't necessary. It did it before and after the lift install so i don't think it would make much of a difference.

I'm gonna take it out though in the next week, because i'm gonna rip through everything i can to isolate the noise. I just like to be thorough like that.

Could be a possibility but if you know they are alright I doubt it. But also check body mounts see if any are pretty much gone

make sure your rubber bump stops are in place.  Front axle not hitting starter or anything is it?
