2.5 drop spindle problem
« on: July 19, 2010, 06:10:31 pm »
So I installed 2.5'' drop spindles on the front and a 2'' shackles and 2'' hangers on the rear. Im running 15x11 inch rims all the way around wrapped in 275 60 15 tires. Since i dropped the truck taking sharp corners and going over fairly big humps or dips in the road the inner lip of the wheel well is hitting my front tires  and cutting the sidewalls. has anyone else run into this problem running big tires on the front like I am and does anyone have any ideas thanks Marc

The 11' wheels are too wide, the widest wheel I run on the front of lowered trucks is an 8" or maybe an 8.5" The tire size is not the problem it's the width and offset of the 11" wheel. Hope this helps.

What about 10 in wide? Would that rub?

In my experience 8" is as wide as you can go on a lowered truck unless you remove the inner fender and go to a bigger wheel to clear everything.

I am considering this and I have 10 in wide wheels. I don't mean to butt in...

Ahh, the link won't work. It's the 3/4 pro drop kit.

Ive got 8" up front with 0 offset. Exiting a simi steep parking lot to main road exit at a decent speed, I cut the side of my tire. I rolled the lip and never had a problem since. Now mine are 8" wide... I think 10 would be way too wide unless you .. prayed real hard..

so i ended up cuttin the lip of the front fender and put on some fat stainless trim to cover it up and not a problem yet. it still hits over huge bumps but that rarely happens
