power steering?
« on: July 21, 2010, 11:28:33 am »
Hey guys, having some trouble mounting the power steering on my small block(truck had a big block before).  I am using the bb for reference and it seems I am missing two holes to the right of the timing cover on the sb.  I don't have the bracket to mount the ps pump to the sb, does anyone have a pic or can tell me what the sb bracket looks like or if its possible to mount power steering on this block at all?  Also will the pump from the bb work on the sb?  The block is a 69-79 block so I should be able to mount power steering on it right?  Any help or advice would be great!

I guess I could have moved the broken belt.

hey texasred is that bracket using one of the holes on the head too?  Does it bolt down anywhere near the bottom of the block or is it just at the top and on the water pump?  Thanks guys, now I just have to find the bracket I guess.

It appears to me to be one on the head and one on the water pump. I don't see a place for two on the water pump. I don't think it connects to the bottom of the block. I can check again in the AM.

There is actually another bracket on my pump that hooks up to the A/C compressor bracket bolts up to the exhaust manifold. I'll take a picture when I know it won't rain later.
