JB weld?

Few days ago i posted about the UGLY VISOR the p.o. put on the truck and i was trying to fix the holes drilled in the top. the chrome trim around the doors i took off as well. A friend of mine just told me to mix up some JB weld and that it can be sanded down, primer and paint just like anything else? does anybody reccomend doing this?

Think of it as really, really hard bondo... It should work fine...

If you have to go that route get some Dura-Glass. It's rock hard bondo that doesnt crack. You can even get it with fiberglass strands in it if it's covering large holes?

I guess this is all opinion, but weld would be so much better.  But if that's not in the cards for you then something like Duraglass would be good.  I don't really see a problem with the jb weld idea, it just sounds hokey.  Not real sure what bad could come of it though.

well as far as prep for the jb weld. should i sand it down to the metal, clean, apply, sand it then prime it? the holes are through the windshield rubber and i dont know enough about body work to do the norm, so this is probly the best for me doing it myself.

As for duraglass, ya it cracks. had it do it numerous times, got it cracked on the 84 bedsides right now.

It does work good and I'd use it over jbweld junk, just seems it'd take too much to do the holes.

They do have things like all metal it's metal filler, maybe try it.

I would or try some duraglass, or the jbweld maybe.

If you can though weld the holes, if not maybe put bolts in it and grind the heads off then fiberglass jb weld or whatever. Or for that matter do that and weld the bolt in place, be easier then filling the hole with weld.

HMMM yeah proly the best bet is just to get it done right instead of going back time after time!!! My nieghbor has a welding shop I'll just bug him and see what he can do, theres no body shops in town!!! thats what we got here in far west texas!!!

I need to replace all the rubber really bad and the p.o. sealed it with some clear caulk!!! Im just gonna order everything up and when I'm ready just knock it out in a day! its my daily driver so I got to!
