New HD wheels on my C20
« on: July 24, 2010, 06:57:57 pm »
I recently replaced my Wheels and tires on my C20.  That changed the look a lot.
I went with 265/75/16 tires

hey isptech where did you find lug nuts that fit the studs and had the threads for the covers of the new wheels?

Those look good. I had wondered what those wheels would look like on one of our trucks.

The only thing I don't care for on those wheels (including mine ;D)  is that they are tucked under a bit too far for my taste.  they work perfectly well tucked, its just a cosmetic thing for me.  BEfore i went and bought all new wheels, i had planned to put 2" wheel spacers on them.  that would have been perfect IMO with the 265/75r16 tires...   though that may be too much for a set of 285's.

If I had not gotten a steal on the set and I was buying some, I probably would have choose a different offset.  I looked over a lot of pictures and had considered ordering a set, but found these.  The seller on Ebay misspelled the word  Chevrolet, that resulted in a really good deal

I bought the lug nuts on Ebay.

I like the wheels, but even wheels and spacers is still way cheaper than most aftermarket wheels.  The bowtie on the center caps really make them look like they came that way back in the day.  If 2 of my wheels hadnt been damaged, I'd have gotten spacers and rocked em probably forever.

I noticed though on eBay that the steel wheels I have are MORE expensive than the aluminum ones that you have.  I just can't pay more for a steel wheel than an aluminum one.  But I always go for the stock looking wheel type so I figured I'd try something different this time.  :)

I've got the same wheels as 78chevyrado and I don't really notice it that much. I think it may be like an inch or so difference. If you don't focus on it, you don't notice it. I'm just glad to rid of the 16.5s! The 265/16's look perfect under my truck!

I have been looking around for awhile now, and I know that this is not really the topic at hand but does anyone know the correct torque the lugs on a C20 with 8 lugs?

On a 2002 3/4 ton the manual says 140ft lbs, I'd go with that.
