Crucial Advice

I need some serious advice. I discovered something the other night that has me in quite a quandary. But, a bit of background as to how I made the discovery is in order. I’ve never had to deal with this type of thing, so the matter has me quite anxious.

I've suspected for some time now that my wife has been seeing someone else. The usual signs. Phone rings; I answer; someone hangs up. She started going out “with the girls” a lot recently, although when I ask which girls it is always "just some new friends from my volunteer group, you don't know them". Now, she does not drive. So, it made me even more suspicious when she started walking down the drive and up the street to catch her ride.

I’m a late night type myself. I do a lot of writing and that’s the best time for me to concentrate. I have an office on the third floor of our home. It’s quite easy for me to observe people coming and going at all hours of the night. So, I began a vigil to see if I could spot the car that drops her off. But, nothing. She always walks down the street and up our driveway.

Then, one afternoon her cell phone rang and I picked it up to hand it to her. Holy crap! She dang near blew a gasket. She accused me of “checking up” on her and told me not to touch her cell phone again.

Anyway, I have never approached the subject of her having an affair. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth. But, last night she went out again; so, I decided to check on her. I decided I was going to hide behind my car, which would give me a view of the whole street so I could see which car she gets out of.

Suddenly, like a bolt of lightning, the horror of it all hit me right between the eyes! While I was crouched behind my car scanning the street for signs of her arrival, I noticed something that literally made me sick to my stomach: some rust was beginning to form around my rear wheel arch.

So, not being familiar with all those “rust removers” in the auto-parts stores, your help is crucial here. Should I take it into a body repair shop or does all that store-bought stuff actually work? Thanks.

I thought I was getting into some good juicy reading...I was kinda enjoying the reading and seeing how this thing ended up--wether you went to jail on murder chargers or in the hospital because you jumped in front of the person's car and he ran over you.  But, no, it ended up, i found rust on my truck.  Geeze what a let down.     That was a good chuckle though.

Probably easier to deal with the wife than the rust.  Either one or both could come back.  The rust is usually cheaper to get rid of though.

That reminds me of a joke. A guy is driving along and starts to slow down for a stop sign. Then he sees a trooper pull up behind him so he cans it and takes off. The trooper pulls him over and asks why he sped away like that. The guy says "10 years ago my wife ran off with a trooper and I was scared you were bringing her back!"

Well beings I have been in the situation you were writing about you had me all worked up! Just for future reference, its not illegal to tap your own phone coming into your house. You can buy everything you need at Radio Shack. Then you wait until she goes to bed, you shut her phone off, call from the tapped line, record all her incoming messages! 
 As for the rust it  needs to be cut out, and sand blast any surface rust inside the cavity. Prime with self etching primer, paint with something, then weld in new metal, do body work, prime, and paint!

Dear Sheila,
A car stalling after only being driven a short distance is probably fuel related. Check the filter for debris, and the fuel lines. Make sure all vacuum lines, ground wires, and ignition wires are secure. If none of these are the apparent source of the issue, there's a real good chance it's the fuel pump itself causing lack of fuel to the system. Hope this helps
