Hey guys, my name is Mike, this is my '80 C10 I have had for about a month. I have owned lots of cars and still do but have always wanted a short bed 2wd hot rod since I was in high school. The one I got rid of for this was an 87 K5 Blazer on 1 tons. I work on BMW's for a living, and have owned mostly nothing but VW's. My current stable counting the C10 includes a 2006 VW Jetta GLI with tons of mods and is about 280Ftlbs at the wheels on crappy california 91, and a 2009 BMW 328I sport package coupe my wife drives.

Truck has a mild 350, not sure whats in it. Has an Elgin cam that thumps a little, an edelbrock intake and carb. Runs like a champ. I just did a dual stainless exhaust with x pipe and two Magnaflows dumped behind the rear axle. I will be putting headers on it here soon. It has a 12 bolt rear axle and an SM465 trans. It was originally a "heavy half ton" appearently from the VIN. Its lowered, with spindles up front and axle flip in the back. Drip rails and trim have been shaved.

I spit the driveshaft out on monday when the rear U-Joint let go, so I had that rebuilt and put it in last night, this weekend I have to change the valve that switches between tanks since it leaks gas. I also got rid of the crappy aftermarket pepboys steering wheel and put on a wheel from a 91 Suburban. My immediate plans are to get rid of the 90's era fake Boyd wheels for some OG Rally wheels or torque thrusts. Not sure on size though. Will 10" fit out back? Size, I wanna stick with 15 since rubber is pretty cheap. I plan on redoing the interior, and building the 388 kit from summit that came in the box. I have a line on a T56 6 speed out of a GTO, but not sure how hard or expensive it will be to swap. My plans are for a clean stockish OEM looking truck rather than street custom. So here is a pic. I will have more tonight but this is it for now.

I dumped my A4 so I could have real fun in an old chevy truck. I look back with no regrets.
The 6-speed swap shouldn't be too hard. without much research; You'll probably need to convert to a hydraulic clutch, make a new crossmember for the trans, cut a new hole for the shifter a little closer to the seat and gey a new driveshaft made or the one you have modified, considering the same for mine except with a t5 or nv4500. not sure what you'll need to do for a speedometer but maybe someone here can point you in the right direction. welcome and nice truck.

Very nice truck! Stick with the 15" tires. They are classic and the taller wheels look crappy of these trucks. Just my 2cents.
