Latest project: '85 4x4

Son has deceided that fixing the body on his '79 is just going to be too much trouble.

So he has aquired this latest gem.........Body is sound, and just needs one rocker, and both cab corners.

He is going to use the rust free $150.00 MOANG cammie bed off of the '79. He also wants to use the Dana60 front out of the '79. The '85 already has the 14-bolt rear axle out of my '77 K30 sled puller. I am building a whole new rear axle for my '77.

This project should move along pretty fast since we have all of the parts. The main thing we are in need of is the grille, and headlights from a '91 Blazer. I have a spare radiator support for the '91 Blazer, but the extra grille that I have is not that good.

We have a spare front axle that we are putting in the '79 when the D60 comes out. Once this '85 is done it will be his daily driver, and the '79 will be his mud stomper.

what's wrong with the 79 body looks like more trouble swapping parts over or finding all the parts for the 85 since most of the body is gone.

We have everything to rebuild the '85. That is why I claim that this project will move along faster than my '77 is moving.

As far as the '79, the cab on the son's '79 is rotted really bad on the driver's side. There is little hope of restoration without totally replacing ALL of the sheet metal on the lower portion of the cab. That is why he wants to build the '85 into his daily driver, and use the '79 as a mud truck.
