Pull Strap Problem
« on: August 01, 2010, 09:16:56 pm »
1986 Chev SWB 4x4, I purchased a set of door panels that have the pull strap, when I installed the door panels and aligned the pull strap holes to bolt it onto the door, the right side hole was there but it is non threaded, I cannot see how it would be possible to slide a threaded clip over this hole as there is 3 inches of metal in all directions, the left hand hole ends up in the large square wide open area of the door, the only possibility I can think of is a bracket that bolts onto the frame of the door that has the 2 straps holes built into this bracket, can anyone tell me if there is a bracket, or it is clips or something else, would appreciate any help in this matter.

Thank You

Can you get pics? There should be a 45* bracket for the rear.

sounds like you're missing the bracket in the door shell opening.

Thank You  that is what I was trying to figure out, a few people said it was clips but that made no sense to me, I thought it would have to be a bracket in order to bridge the large opening in the door, thanks for confirming it is a bracket that I am looking for

Yup, when you look for the bracket, get the clips if you dont have any.
