I have a 74 stepside and can not get it to stop blowing hot air out, all of the cables are free and move properly is there something that could be stuck that I am missing?

A door could be stuck open. The fan will always be on, so you will always have airflow. Think about dropping your inner box and cleaning it out. Its fairly easy. Might be a good time to swap out the heater core anyways. Its cheap, so its worth doing in the process.

I have the same problem with mine. I'm actually considering putting in some inline valves on the heater hoses so I can shut them off on the hot days and open them up when I might want the heat.

yea alot of gm's the fan keeps running I think I'd wire the sucker to a seperate inline switch before the regular switch or resistor whichever is needed to cut power and keep it from running until you flip that switch then turn on the heater by the factory switch.

Im with you beastie I live in Missouri and the last couple of days the heat index has been around 100-105 luckily it is a short drive to work

I unplugged my fan from under the Hood but due to vents its not a breeze of hot air but just hot air that u still feel

thanks irish. I will try that. I don't know why it didn't cross my mind to just unplug it for the summer since mine is a non a/c truck.

I had to do the Same thing haha,,it was a easy fix and Definately worth it

I've done that before. Works pretty well. I would open them every so often to circulate the water and coolant.

That's what I did. Put a valve in the line going to the heater.

The fan running constantly was a "feature" on the trucks.
