Will a steering colum from a 98 GMC work in a 79 C30?

Can I mount a steering column from a 98 GMC dually in a 79 C30? Will all the connection fit?
Any help or input you guys could give would be greatly appreciate.

Pretty sure nothing will just bolt and hook right up, but with enough time and effort, you can do anything.

The shifting linkage under the hood on the newer trucks is opposite the 73-87 if I remember correctly.
