Power Lock Actuator interfearing with window channel help!!
« on: August 16, 2010, 01:40:16 pm »
Hello all,  I'm new to this forum so bare with me. I have bought and restored an 85 c10 over the past year.  the truck came with power windows and locks but all the gutts of the doors was in a pile in the bed when I got the truck.  The trouble I'm encountering is the window channel and the lock acctuator both seem to want to use the same mounting hole in the door skin. and it doesn't seem like they both mount together in the same hole.  What's going on here.  what do i Need to do?  Thanks

Take a picture of what you are working on if you can.  Sounds like you are using the wrong holes for lock.  Should be 2 holes for it.

ya there is  three 3 holes one above the other on the door.  The window channel only bolts into one witch is the bottom of the three and the actuator bracket only bolts into the middle one and the bottom one you know what I mean.  I'll try to take a picture.

Here you go with the pics just click the attachment.  Now the window channel only bolts in two places in the jamb above the outside handle, and on the inner door skin on the third hole down.  Now the lock actuator only bolts in and works on the middle hole and the "bottom hole" as well.  They don't bolt in the same hole together.  What the heck Do i need to do.  Maybe my doors didn't have factory power locks?  they are the late doors though??

Pictures are too small, but you are putting it in the wrong place,  It needs to go towards the outside of the door about 4"

There are 3 holes down the outiside of this pic, that is where the lock goes.
