My old Car
« on: August 19, 2010, 02:11:08 pm »
Thought you guys would like this.

I ran across one of my old cars today.  It's a 73 Caprice.  Grandad gave it to me for the engine for my truck.  I drove it for a little while because I could before taking it apart.  I robbed the engine out of it to put in my old '87 R10.  Had a nice 400 in it.  I just sold the body with no engine.  It was as rust free as my 78 is but the paint was prettier not having been in the woods countless times.   Pretty car really, I couldn't drive it on long trips because the seats were so comfy they'd put me to sleep. ;D

When I sold it in 2004:

Today in 2010:

I liked the old darker brown color better, and now it has a few pieces of trim missing, but it's still in good shape, aside of the hideous hub caps..lol  The interior looks identical to how it did, which was brand new looking except for a hole in the carpet from usage.

Oh and it's only been about 5k miles since I sold it....  it has about 145k on it

Somebody took pretty good care of it, you going to buy it back and swap the seats?

If I didn't have my truck, I'd probably buy it and fix it all up like new and put a 454 in it.   But I gotta let it go, so I can finish my truck.  It's not really my style, but it is nice to ride in.  They're selling it with a new engine in it and only 5k miles since I sold it for $1000 more.  which would be doable to me, but I like my truck better... ;D

The second to last pic is cool to me...   The car and my truck lived in the same garage  for 26 years together...   Kinda cool to see em together again.  ;D   The car still has 3 of the 4 OE "POWERBEAM" headlights in it.

The left front is correct for a Corvette. The other three are Impala. Quite hard to find. I had a set of the Corvette ones on my 1977 C-10...They were stolen, of course.  >:( They also took the Impala set I had AS WELL as the ultra rare 14" Camaro set I had. They obviously knew what they were. *****.

That is a NICE car. I LIKE 4 doors.

That is almost identical to the car my parents gave my older sister for her high school graduation present.
