throttle cable

The gas pedal in my 85k10 is really stiff compared to my 77k10.  My motor was replaced before i bought the truck, but the same intake and carb were used. Is the cable makin my pedal stiff, or did someone probably put stiffer springs on it, or is that just the way it is stock?

How stiff is it?  My 87 had a really stiff cable, and was kinda sticky too.  I pulled one out of my parts truck and it was a lot softer, something inside my old one was getting it haung up or something.  All these old trucks have stiffer springs than other vehicles I've driven.
