seat interchange

Does anyone know what year of seat will interchange with a 1980 chevy 4x4.  What I want is a diract bolt in.
I would really like a seat from say a 1995 or so, but don't want to drill any holes.  Thanks

I heard that the front two holes will work, but the rears need drilling.  I don't think you will find a direct bolt-in, other than expensive custom aftermarket seats.  The mid 90's are the best option.

I used a full bench seat from a 92 for my 80 c10. i used the brackets fome my 80 on the 92 seat.  the bracket bolted to the back of the seat and I drilled hole in the brackets and the bottom of the front of the seat. very easy to do and understand when you look at the bottoms of both seats. they will line up with the holes in the cab.  it took me about 20 minutes to complete. the seat is very comfortable and looks good in the truck.

The 88 and up seat will be narrower. I had one in my truck and replaced it with a seat from the correct years(got a new one for free). I installed it the way 1980c10 described and it looked good but it was not wide enough. Here is a link to my seat.

As for bolting in, nothing but 73-87's will fit.  You can use the 88-98 seat, but they are alot narrower like 69byrd stated.

I did the exact same with my 1980. it is far more comfortable than the originial and looks better. I do not feel that it is too narrow at all. I would definately do it again. my seat is also a full bench from a 92 and it also came with an armrest.
