TODAY is a Great Day to visit our Store and order the parts you need for your truck ! ! !
man somebody threw it together or should have used loctite or something lol.
with it being that loose I would have yanked it, bolted it to the block and dropped em both in at the same time.At least yours ainr broke like mine. I had a leak in my 88 that has a th350 in it, come to find out the case is broke right by the side cover on the PS which is the 1-2 accumulator cover.
yours got the 2 little pads that sit on the crossmember and then bolt goes threw them? One on each side, or is it the ones like the 86 or so trucks have where it bolts up into the mount which is one long one with 2 bolts then 2 bolts into the t-case to mount the t-case mount/adapter?The 208 t-case 86 we had, used the long mount into the adapter between the case and trans. The 203 case and th400 we got had the 2 little pads that mounted to the crossmember and went into the t-case.
I will try to check that bolt size tonight. I just removed an SM465/np208 with the flat crossmember and mounts like you described. I left it all bolted together so I will spin one of those bolts out and measure it. I'm pretty sure they are 1/2 by 3", maybe 3 1/2".
Just took one out; it's 1/2-13 NC with 3 3/4" of thread, but they protrude slightly through the adapter. 1/2"x3 1/2" or 4" should work fine. Get a grade 5 at least or grade 8 if you can.
