4x4 700r4 transmission

I have a 700r4 transmission that sat out in the rain for almost a year. I am not sure of its year but I took the pan off and there is no sign of any rust. My question is should the transmission still be good to use?

Absolutely not. You should put it in a box and send it to me and I'll store it in a blazer for you.
Did it sit full of fluid? That would help prevent rust. Did it have lines connected or were those fittings open? I would spray some shop air at it and get all the moisture out that you can and run with it. There's really only one way to find out unless you rip it down and rebuild it.
