Would not start....?
«

Gave ol' "PawPaw" an oil change Sunday evening. Got in Monday morning to head to work and no go. Getting plenty of gas to carb but the spark seems to be intermittent. Will actually backfire when trying to crank. Had to work till 9 last night and wasn't even gonna attempt a night fix. After work today, I plan on checking the ignition module, coil, cap and rotor. The cap and rotor and wires were replace about 3mos ago. Oh yeah, 1980 C10 with 350. It is more than likely one of these things, right?
Thanks,
Fiddler

I mean do you have the 4 pin module or one with more? Just one power wire into the distributor?

Just one power wire and no, it hasnt been raining. Just replaced cap, rotor, module, and coil. Still nothing. I know that you can buy new "bad" parts. So now I'm gonna backtrack.

I did test with a light that a tech friend of mine let me borrow. You plug one end into the dist cap and the other to the plug wire. It has a light that lights up. And it did light up but I only did the #1 wire. Is it normal for gas to kinda squirt up outta the carb?

When you move the throttle yes fuel should squirt out. The test light you used did its job. Is the fuel just flowing or is it only when you move the throttle

not moving the trottle at all. the fuel is squirting on its own....mechanical fuel pump, not electric. still acting like it wont fire though.

Got the battery on charge as we speak. What's up with the gas squirting out of the carb? is it normal? It's just really noticeable with the breather off.

If its like poring into the carb then something is stuck maybe float or something this is causing the engine to flood cut the fuel off ASAP. After rebuilding the carb you may have to change the oil check on it see if it’s thin or smells like fuel
