What are the best headers to run on my 84 silverado 350c.i.

this is a debate that never sees any end. do a search and you will find hours of reading... many have asked the same question. i like my hedman long tubes.

I also have Hedmanns. The ceramic coating is great if you can afford it. If not, it will run just as well with the plain steel ones, they will just not look as good or last as long.

Is your truck stock or modded? Is it lowered or lifted? A stock motor with a small 4 barrel is going to need a lot less than a bored, stroked and cammed motor. If it's stock height or lifted, long tubes are fine. If it's lowered you want to go with mid length or shorties.
Give more details and you might get more input.

I like Hookers myself. I generally run the straight comps with 2.5" exhaust. if I were to get more radical, the super comps with 3" collectors would be the ticket. I've heard good things about Headman too, just always bought the tried and true Hookers.

There are two tools needed, duct tape and WD40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD 40.

well if you buy the painted ones they'll rust and burn the paint off right away, so I'd go ceramic coated or stainless. ceramic is expensive, and you can buy stainless long tubes on ebay for about $160, that's how I'd do. I run the cheap headers all the time, flowtech, dynomax and summit brand. They work, they fit about all you can say.

I like my Thorley Tri Y headers. Flanges are thicker than normal and have a nice coating.

I've got flowtech shorties on my sierra and I actually drive that and their not rusty like my hookers.

1 5/8" primaries w/3" collector will work for most application. For Hi Horsepower SBC, 1 3/4" primaries works well.

Speaking as a Californian, finding out what headers are smog legal in your state will narrow your choices considerably.
