After some debate I have decided on going  with the 4.5/6 lowering kit from Mcgaughy's and replacing front and rear shocks as well for my 77 GMC step side swb.

The kit comes with 2.5" drop spindles and 2" drop springs for the front and a flip kit and c-notch for the back. I am also ordering the lowered shocks for the rear and replacement shocks for the front, both also from Mcgaughy's.

I am wondering if there is anything else I should plan to replace upgrade while I am down there and have curious if I should plan on swapping bushings, bump stops or anything else while I am at it.

You'll probably want to get an alignment after all is installed-so check all of your steering/ball joints and other front end parts. also make sure you have a front sway bay. good time to give the brakes a visual check too.

If you have stock rally wheels, then the spindles could interfer with them to a point of not being able to use them. I will say I bought McGaughy's spindles myself and had to upsize my wheels to 17 and still do some grinding to make it work. Most though have not had that problem from what Ive heard though......

If it were me I would order a rebuild kit and go through it while you are there. Nothing like starting fresh with all new parts so you don't have to do it again later.
