Paint job....what color should I do on my 79 k10
« on: October 19, 2010, 07:00:27 pm »
I am putting my truck in the paint shop in one week..   I am between black and blue.  What types of  blues do you guys think would look great?  My interior is tan.   help me out.  I am always back and forth.  I have even considered painting it a raspberry color.  There is no trim on the truck.  I might put the 81-87 silverado crome trim that extends at the bottom of the truck on it instead of the 79 moldings.  The 79 moldings are just so hard to match up especially when the holes are filled in already.

If those are my only choices I pick the blue, like the mitsubishi blue that Vile painted one of his trucks.

I like both the black and the blues, but I wouldn't want to take care of the black. My choice would be Blue  8)
77 4x4 small block shorty
98 Ram cummins with a few mods
96 Grand Cherokee

just remember dark colours will show every pink and donk in the bodywork more than a lighter colour.

Since you are going to have to live with it, I would pick the one you like the best...  Black is going to add to you bodywork, Blue if it is lighter/brighter will be easier to get away with simple flaws.

The later model GM vehicles with the metallic orange paint pleasantly reminds me of my old orange '74 K10.

It's a bit... different from the usual billy-bad colors, but it really grew on me back then.
