Hello from Tempe
« on: November 02, 2010, 11:03:28 pm »
Hello my name is Eric.  I recently purchased a 87 C20 to semi restore and turn into a daily driver cruiser.  The body is pretty solid and the motor and trans are good and that is where it stops.

The path I am hoping to take with this truck is:
Solid baseline, full tune up, new belts, hoses, fluids etc (done)
Safety, get working seatbelts, flush brake fluid, check pads and lines
Clean up previous owners hack wiring job
Get the blower for the HVAC working and the heater working
Give the body a once over and single stage paint
Clean up interior with some new paint bits
Get some kind of radio in it
Enjoy for many years

So I will be asking a bunch of questions.  I am not new to working on and building vehicles, but I am new to these trucks.  I have had a 91 Caprice Wagon with a 305 and a 97 G1500 with the 350 vortec.

Thanks for the help in advance.

All normal practicality and rational money handling goes out of the window when it comes to my truck.
