guage cluster issues...
« on: November 10, 2010, 04:14:54 pm »
I have purchases a 87 guage cluster and I removed my 79 old one and it plugged right up perfectly no adjustments were necessary.  I  had no problems with it until i removed it so i could replace my wiper switch and when i plugged it in the truck would not start.  I get power to all the guages and the truck but the truck will not attempt to turn over.  I played with it all day trying to make sure the wiring was just perfect with the plug and that does not seem to be the problem.   Does anyone have any idea why i cannot get power to my starter for the start up?  Please help..

Check that you have bat+ at the junction block on the firewall. If not, then check the condition of the wires at the starter. It's possible you blew a fusible link.
