The first one is how I found it. Came with the headman headers and a TH350....the guy started it while it sat on a trailer. Said it came out of a 67 Chevelle but the block and heads date to January 1971.

Looks good. Wouldn't you want your valve covers switched so the oil fill is in the front though?

I'm not gonna be keeping those covers. Not sure yet what i'm gonna get yet but definitely will have the oil fill towards the front. Thanks for pointing that out. With so much going on, it's hard to notice those little things.

Well, just ordered a polished 100 amp alternator(summit), Sanden 508 polished compressor(ebay), Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap Intake(summit), Polished aluminum water pump (ebay), ac delco platinum plugs/tapered and a March Performance 23070 dual serpentine system(summit). I can't wait to start putting this stuff on. And posting some pics for y'all as well.

I am thinking about replacing the under hood wiring while I am cleaning and painting. Soes anyone know where to find a partial harness? Just from the firewall plug? If so, please include part info....thanks.

Yep, Chris (CaptChaos) sold me my new engine harness. I ordered a '84 big-block harness for my '84 body/'75 chassis application. Required very little work to surgically remove the carburator wiring I did not need and it went back together easily and connected right up.

Ok, so now, while everything is down to a crawl on the swap (work schedule), I am thinking about the tranny. Here's what I currently have. TH350c and 273 in the rear with standard size tires (2wd). I want some input as to if I should just rebuild my tranny or do a swap since now is the perfect time. The big block is gonna be full-o-torque so getting those 273 gears rolling shouldn't be too much of a problem. Suggestions?
