Brakes
« on: November 13, 2010, 02:27:15 am »
Got to replace the rears on my truck, new shoes, drums, and wheel cylinders. Any way to tell what size brakes mine are before taking them apart? The parts place I am using needs to order them for me, so I would hate to take everything apart to measure it just to let the truck sit until the parts show up. I'm guessing that I don't have an option here, but I am hoping. My truck is a 75 K-10. Thanks in advance for any help.

p.s.- It says I have either 11"x2" brakes or 11 5/16"x2 3/4".

I would think it would be the 2" wide ones. a lot of times not all the time but allot of times when it comes between choosing between two different parts if the parts store has one on hand but not the other then its more common that being said

I tried to look for a 75 but it only had the ones that weren’t in stock as a choice that’s why I stepped it up to a 76

Take a look at these drums and see if they look like yours. If you can see your drums through your wheels, its pretty easy to tell if you have the wider HD drums.
