Second battery bracket
« on: November 14, 2010, 02:46:56 am »
I'm looking to add a second battery. I do not have the support for it on the driver side. I have a new OEM battery tray from the passenger side, So i figured I could probably fab together a bracket to hold the battery tray and mount it like that, but what would you recommend? and, I should run these in parallel and not series, correct? By parallel I mean starter to pos1, pos2 to pos1, neg1 to engine/chassis/body ground, neg2 to neg1 which should equal 12 volts, double amps. and series would be starter to pos1, neg1 to pos2, neg2 to engine/chassis/body ground which would be 24 volts same amps. Is that correct?

It may be worth checking with a vendor or even the local dealer, those tray parts were all available last time I needed one...but that has been several years. You are correct on the hook up, pos. to pos. & neg to neg. Lorne
